Hey Korra? Can you just... [he sighs. CONNER DOESN'T LIKE PANIC ATTACKS. this whole freaking out thing is not for him. and he feels weird.] Can you call me back when you have the time? I need to talk to someone.
Korra? Hi. This is Wan. I'm supposed to just talk and you'll um... 'call' me back, right? Okay. Uh... I wanted to let you know that you don't have to pretend I'm not the Avatar anymore. I've had time to think about it and it's been hard for me to pretend around others that know what the Avatar is. I don't think I can. I can't really deny that part of me. It's not right. Even if I'm not always proud of what I've done, pretending otherwise feels... wrong.
[ She's been debating doing this for a while now, but...Sonia's clearly decided to go through with it, even if Korra won't know the reason for the determination in her voice when she calls. ]
Korra? Do you have time to meet up today? At your block or mine, I do not have a preference. I wanted to talk to you about something.
Hey Korra what's your take on- [he trails off a bit awkwardly. no okay he can do this! he had rehearsed what he was going to say prior calling her! he's got this down!!! or-- not.... wah.] I'm just a bit.... curious about something. Give me a call when you get this.
Conner? [He can probably still hear the yawn she's trying to stifle.]
I don't mind, but...don't people get sick if they try to stay in another apartment? Oh, uh... [A pause as she thinks. She's only about half-awake right now, and her brain's still trying to catch up here.] If something happened to your apartment, Kon and Zee can stay here, too.
((Because someone hasn't forgotten how well Korra seemed to agree with her, after this conversation, someone's eager to share info))
Korra, you remember that thing we were talking about in the alley last month or so? Well...
Wei Yao, potential head of the corporation, and his daughter Beth. Tell me that's not hitting them where it hurts. ((someone sounds distinctly proud of herself for getting this info.))
[Oops, guess who's feeling a little guilty about not talking to Sakura right away.]
Yeah...about that. I talked to Stefan when he showed up to help us. He says Beth Yao might not even know what's going on. I--I was thinking we could try to talk to her instead, if there's a chance she could put an end to everything.
[She was used to people mostly Kon barging in without knocking, and thus didn't immediately look up when the footsteps approached. Laying on her stomach, on her bed, phone in hand, it was only when a distinctly female-sounding grunt echoed through the room that she even bothered to look up at all.]
...Korra?
[She sat up almost immediately, throwing her legs over the side of the bed.]
What are you doing here? Not that I'm complaining, of course.
[She was halfway through the contact picture list when she remembered that the comms were still pretty glitchy. Showing no signs of improvement, either.]
[Well, that was lame.]
[On the other hand, she needed to stretch her legs anyway, so Zatanna hauled herself up and out and over to Korra's. With any luck, by the time she got there and knocked, Korra would be home.]
