Then I guess we need to make sure he isn't getting himself tangled up in all this. It'll be bad enough trying to get the demon to give your soul back without Kal getting his taken away, too.

[She looks over at Conner.]

He really means a lot to you and Kon, doesn't he?

[he nods.] He means the world to me. And I'm sure Kon could say the same thing. Which is why I don't want him trying to do something that could potentially put his life at risk.

[braavado]

If he tries, we'll all be here to help him, too.

I'm not letting you deal with this alone and I'm pretty sure Kon and Zee would have something to say about that.

[foreveraclone]

They better have something to say about it. [he pauses.]

[braavado]

You see. We're all here to help.

[She nudges him with her shoulder.]

We're all in this together now.

[foreveraclone]

[he sighs.] Yeah, thanks. I just- the last thing I want anyone doing is fighting my battles. I don't want to see anyone try to take this into their own hands and end up trading their soul for mine. No way am I going to let that stand.

[braavado]

You think that's what he wants to do--trade his soul for yours?

[Yikes, Kal.]

But that doesn't solve the problem at all. It just means we'll try to get his soul back instead of yours.

[foreveraclone]

He might. [he bites his lower lip in slight worry.] And then it'll turn into a giant circle of attempting to get everyone's soul back. It doesn't help that we're on a tight time schedule either.

[braavado]

[Conner definitely knows Kal better than she does, so, she'll trust his instincts on this one.]

Should we keep an eye on hi--wait. What tight schedule?

I only have about ten weeks left before the Demon comes to collect. [bracing himself now.]

[braavado]

What? [She’s feeling cold from the shock.]

You… but you didn’t say anything about a deadline when you told me about the deal last time!

[foreveraclone]

I didn't know how to bring it up the last time we talked about it.

[braavado]

[She turns her head away, frowning, as she still tries to swallow this.]

Were you planning to keep it a secret until...it actually happened?

[foreveraclone]

Maybe? [he shrugs.] I don't know. I think I wanted too at first. Just to keep it to the people who were there to witness the deal going down. But... but now I don't.... I mean, I still don't want everyone to know. But I'm more open to people I'm close with knowing.

[braavado]

[She tilts her head, the wording catching her attention enough that she turns back.]

So I'm...one of those people now?

[foreveraclone]

Yeah. Most of my teammates probably know by now, but.... I think you're one of the first to know that isn't a teammate?

[braavado]

[She’s mollified by this, settling down a little.]

I—I’m glad you think you can trust me with it.

[foreveraclone]

Well I've trusted you with a lot of other things so far, so.... it shouldn't be this much of a shock to find out about this.

I know you told me other things, but...

[She bites her lip. He's never put it that way before--knowing something only his teammates do.]

[he sighs.] I'm sorry, you probably didn't want to know.

[braavado]

No! [Korra looks surprised by her own outburst and takes care to lower her voice back to a normal volume.]

I want to know. I'm just surprised because, you know, you're really close to your teammates. I guess I didn't know I was... uh, anywhere close?

[foreveraclone]

Oh? Well.... you are? I mean you're the only one not on the team who knows about me being soulless, so....
