Oh, sure. Make me do all the work so you can keep running.
[Bad enough your legs were longer. Cheater.]
[But magic was the safer route, less Korra accidentally BBQ the both of them while trying to illuminate the path...so she gave in and summoned a couple of her glowing orbs. One to follow Korra, and one to keep on her tail.]
[She definitely did not give a small 'eep' at the feel of completely unexpected winds blowing at her hair, and will deny everything if Korra ever suggests otherwise.]
Maybe not...but this will!
Etativel!
[She took to the air, shooting forward. Hi, Korra. Bye, Korra.]
[Interestingly enough, the pair encountered very few monsters for the remainder of their trip. Either because they were unable to keep up...or had no idea what just hit them when a pair of giggling teenaged girls flew by in the blink of an eye.]
[By the time they made it to the exit, Zatanna was out of breath. Mostly from laughing so hard. She leaned against a nearby wall for a moment, chest heaving, cheeks flushed, and a huge grin on her face.]
[...fortunately, Zatanna was still in way too much of a good mood at the moment. One that didn't seem to fade in the least as she straitened her posture, pushing some hair away from her face as she very purposely recalled what they had been talking about before epic racing ensued.]
So.
What was it you didn't want Conner and-or Kal to overhear, and is apple pie involved in this story in any way?
[She was only slightly teasing about that last part.]
[It was the one thing keeping most of the West residents from moving up there permanently. Many a dates of times past had been cut short because of the inevitable effects. Sucked, but at least they could last long enough to enjoy themselves.]
Then again, how long could dinner take? I know Conner's a growing boy, but he doesn't eat that much.
[He wasn't a speedster.]
[...which, of course, meant the two had been up to more than just dinner. She had a few ideas in her head, but decided to wait for Korra to say anything before she risked going too far with the teasing.]
With the two of us? [Korra smiles, oblivious to Zatanna's thoughts for the moment.] Neither of us are really great in the kitchen--we weren't sure if it'd take us a while to make something decent.
Besides, we wanted time to just...talk, too. We've barely had any time to ourselves since we decided to stay together.
[And now Korra finally pauses.]
Um... all of that went without a hitch. We just...got a little carried away later.
[Korra's mouth opens. And closes. Her face turns a little red.
How does words about sex or anything leading up to it? She's never really talked about this with anyone before, and she thought talking about kissing was hard!]
Pretty carried away? We were just kissing, and then...
[Far from scandalized, Zatanna actually had to stop herself from laughing. Both in sheer delight for her friends, and from the coincidence of it all.]
I can't believe it--no, scratch that. I definitely can. But, still...you guys had sex too? ["too"] How? I mean, I know how, but how did it happen? Who initiated?
[Whatever reason we originally had for coming to North had been all but forgotten. The entirety of her focus was on Korra now. Eyes shining. She wanted to hear everything.]
Oh-- we didn't... go all the way? [Korra stumbles over the words a little, face red. Why is the actually doing part so much easier than the talking? Go figure.] But we went... pretty far. I don't think either of us really thought about stopping until...after. We sort of talked about it.
[Now that she's done rambling, Korra finally picks up on Zatanna's slip up.]
Wait... "too"? [She stares at Zatanna, then breaks out laughing.] You're kidding! You and Kon...?
[She'd been so excited, she hadn't even realized the minor slip at first. To her credit, she didn't blush...much...but she did have the grave to look sheepish. Less from the topic itself and more from the way she'd let Korra know.]
He really liked his present, okay?
[Obviously, there was more to that story. So much more. But one story at a time, and Korra's came first.]
It went great. [Korra's smile is soft and fond.] We decided to wait before going any...further. [Korra bites her lip. Seriously, why is she having so much trouble getting the words out?] So, I guess that means we will be, you know, some time later.
What about you? [Korra hastily turns back to Zatanna.] I'm guessing this is the present you were talking about last time?
no subject
[Korra smiles at Zatanna, amused. Then she looks away.]
And it's not bad, not exactly... [Her gaze flicks in the direction of the housing area.] I just... want to be out of range. Of hearing.
[That alone should tell Zatanna who Korra's thinking about. Though it's not something she'd want Kal to accidentally overhear either.]
no subject
[Oh.]
[Now she was definitely asking the moment they reached North.]
Come on, then. Let's see if any of the monsters in there missed us.
no subject
Then, she sends a mischievous grin over her shoulder and jumps the rest of the way down.]
Race you there!
no subject
[
Like she was any better.]You're on!
[She took off at a full sprint, unbothered by the small weight of her nearly-empty knapsack.]
no subject
Korra just grins even harder when she hears Zatanna catching up behind her.]
Think you can give us a little light here with your fancy powers or should I do something with my firebending?
no subject
[Bad enough your legs were longer. Cheater.]
[But magic was the safer route, less Korra accidentally BBQ the both of them while trying to illuminate the path...so she gave in and summoned a couple of her glowing orbs. One to follow Korra, and one to keep on her tail.]
no subject
Oh yeah, you've got me all figured out now. [The sarcasm is strong with this one.] But that still won't help you win!
no subject
Maybe not...but this will!
Etativel!
[She took to the air, shooting forward. Hi, Korra. Bye, Korra.]
no subject
Hey! [Korra chokes back another laugh. It's so on. She forms a cloud beneath her feet and flies after Zatanna until they're side by side.]
no subject
[By the time they made it to the exit, Zatanna was out of breath. Mostly from laughing so hard. She leaned against a nearby wall for a moment, chest heaving, cheeks flushed, and a huge grin on her face.]
We definitely need to do this more often.
no subject
[Even though they technically got to the end around the same time. What are details, though.
Korra grins at her, completely unrepentant about the teasing.]
no subject
[...fortunately, Zatanna was still in way too much of a good mood at the moment. One that didn't seem to fade in the least as she straitened her posture, pushing some hair away from her face as she very purposely recalled what they had been talking about before epic racing ensued.]

What does apple pie have to do with anything?
no subject
Nothing.
[So smooth.]
Maybe you should start the story before my imagination runs away with me again.
no subject
Uh...well, you know Conner and I were going to have dinner together after that party, and just spend time together?
no subject
I remember.
You two disappeared later that night, so I figured that's what you were up to. Where did you go, out of curiosity?
no subject
[It seemed the most reasonable option, at least.]
The buildings in North are nicer and everything's working, but it kind of puts a damper on everything if there's a time limit, you know?
no subject
[It was the one thing keeping most of the West residents from moving up there permanently. Many a dates of times past had been cut short because of the inevitable effects. Sucked, but at least they could last long enough to enjoy themselves.]

[And now Korra finally pauses.]
Um... all of that went without a hitch. We just...got a little carried away later.
no subject
[Then Korra's voice lowered...and it took a second for Zatanna to even make out what she was saying...and when she did, both eyebrows went up.]
How carried away are we talking here?
no subject
How does words about sex or anything leading up to it? She's never really talked about this with anyone before, and she thought talking about kissing was hard!]
Pretty carried away? We were just kissing, and then...
[She shrugs, ducking her head a little.]
no subject
Korra!
[Far from scandalized, Zatanna actually had to stop herself from laughing. Both in sheer delight for her friends, and from the coincidence of it all.]

I'm hoping the talk went well.
