I'm fine when it comes to weaponry, as long as it's long-range. I'm a decent shot, and I've still got a lot of ammo left.

[And firearms for said ammo, obviously, between his own creations and the gun he nicked from the prison. It's just when he can't fight at long-range—when he has to actually defend himself, really—that things get troublesome.]

[Times like these, Korra's grateful that she's been absorbing all sorts of new styles from Steve. Styles that will let people like Fujimaru fight without bending.]

I've been learning a lot of hand-to-hand stuff from a friend that I can show you. When do you want to start?

[Quickly, before Fujimaru can pull away, Korra pokes her fingers at his cheeks and tugs the corners of his mouth up into some semblance of a smile.]

[Korra???? He would say more than that, but he kind of can't.

With that, he'll be trying to shove her hands away now, thank you very much.]

[She just laughs and pulls her hands away.]

I'm just messing with you. [As friends do.] At least try not to be so pessimistic about learning how to fight? You're never going to get anywhere if you keep thinking you suck.

See--the thing is, when it comes to fighting, you have to have some confidence. At least, that's how I see it. Even if you know the right stances, the right moves, it's not going to be effective if you don't think you can carry them out, right?

[afflictive]

[Korra, you're asking the guy who struggles with that thing called self-confidence in anything besides machinery (and Haven's been trying to attack that with a sledgehammer too, for that matter).]

... I'm not gonna hesitate, if that's what you're worried about.

[braavado]
