For now, Sonia's starting to blush. ]

[Korra watches the color seep into her friend's face with fascination. It's not often that she gets to see Sonia lose her cool, after all.]

Aha, so there is someone! What's he like?

[Screw spoilers, man. Spill the deets!]

[ But Korra he's in a coma...still, even though it's been seven months since his very brief appearance in Haven, and longer before that, since she's seen Tanaka Gundam...

But thinking about him can still inspire her to smile. Even if, with knowledge of storage, and knowledge of where he would be even if that were not true, the smile is still wistful and sad. ]

He is...a very passionate person. Tanaka-san is very kind-hearted, although it is something he tries to hide. [ He'd let her hold his hand, the last time they met. He hadn't let go. ]

I have not seen him in many months now, but...he is one of my classmates. The Super High School Level Animal Breeder. He was here for a short few days a long while ago.

Wait a sec. [The name's actually ringing a few bells here, and that kind of surprises Korra. Tanaka. Animal Breeder.]

Wait, wait...I got it. [Korra holds up her index fingers, pointing one at Sonia, then at...some space beside her because Tanaka's not here anymore. That doesn't seem to bother Korra, though, if the smile growing on her face is any indication.]

He's that guy with the hamsters! The one you mentioned way back when we first got here. That Tanaka?

[ Yeah, Sonia is not that subtle about her ridiculous crush. If Tanaka were actually in Haven, Korra herself probably could have picked up on it. Even without him in Haven, she's brought him up more than once. ]

E-er, yes! He is the only Tanaka I know of. Though I - never told him of my feelings.

[ And he was an oblivious nerd who thought poison ran through his veins so you know they didn't really get anywhere besides really, really weird flirting ]

Oh, but…you said he’s gone now. [Korra’s expression turns a little grim, and she doesn’t hide it. There’s no point, when Sonia knows exactly why; Storage.]

If he shows up again, you should tell him how you feel. Take advantage of the moment, right?

...Yes. Even at home, however, he...we did not know if he would ever wake, along with some of the others.

[ Though they would have tried forever. Will try forever, when they finally win free of this place. ]

I...before anything else, I...must thank him for all he did for me.

[Oh... that's really depressing. She knows Sonia, Komaeda, and Hinata all hard times in their world, but... to think the person Sonia has feelings for is in that state. It's sad.

Korra scoots closer and gives her friend a hug.]

[ The hug is instantly returned, and for a moment Sonia wishes she'd had something like this before. Some sort of support system like this. Her parents had loved her dearly - it must be "had", now, even though she last remembers them alive - but she had never been a person before she had been a princess.

On the island, it was different. In Haven, it is different. And it is bittersweet, because she knows she would still give up her life to her duties and her people, knows it must happen if they still exist in that place. ]

Someday...I'd like you to meet him.

I'd like to meet him, too.

[She leans her head against Sonia's, upset on her friend's behalf.]

If he's...you know. In Storage, we'll get him. We'll get everyone in there out.

Yes. [ Quietly, but fiercely. ] That has always been my intent. I cannot leave any of them in this place. Nor can I allow Yao to continue as it has done.

And you know I'm not letting you do any of that alone.

[Then, trying to lighten the mood a little, Korra makes a weak little quip.]

Heck, maybe we'll get lucky and have all this done by the time my birthday rolls around. That'd be one heck of a birthday present.

[And all that she would want to ask for, honestly.]

Your birthday? [ Well, it does seem to perk Sonia up. ] Oooh, when is it? Is it coming up soon?

Nah, I think we've still got a few months before then. It's March 22.

What about yours?

Er, October 13th. I believe it fell during...

[ Well, the maze. Sonia gestures to Korra's cheek. ]

...oh. [That makes Korra frown.] I can't believe we missed it.

That means we're gonna have to do something now.

[And Korra will have to make a present, somehow!]

I mostly forgot about it in the chaos, to be honest - and really, I am not...entirely certain how old I ought to be.

[ MEMORY...LOSS...TIMELINE SHENANIGANS...though she will blink at Korra. ]

Oh? Such as what?

I have to get you a present! [At the very least.]

Uh...I think we're out of luck for the cake, though. Even if we found all the ingredients, I'd probably just burn the kitchen down.

Presents in Haven...we have to get a little creative, do we not? But it is an excellent challenge!

[ ...and then a small laugh. ]

Er, I fear I would, as well...no one has ever taught me much about cooking, you see...

That’s okay. We’ll just have to find a substitute for the cake or something.

Compared to everything else we’ve faced here, this should be [grin] a piece of cake.

[Sorry, Sonia. She just went there.]

[ IF ONLY Sonia didn't laugh at that...but she does. ]

Well, you are right about that! Honestly, fruit seems a lovely treat these days, even with the gardens.

Then we can head over to the garden and pick some apples to share later, since neither of us can bake.
