[She sighs, still at a loss.]

It might be easier to just start with what you already know. What exactly did Mako tell you?

You can bend all four elements, and there's only one person like you at any time, making it an anomaly that there's more than one Avatar in Haven. That was pretty much it.

[braavado]

I dunno. [She looks a little lost for a second.]

It can get overwhelming when I think about it. Maybe you could tell me something good that happens to you or Mako?

[tuffguy]

[ a small blush appears on his face ]

Well, I started dating Opal?

[braavado]

[Okay, that? She can actually get behind. Korra grins, pushing at Bolin's shoulder joyfully.]

That's great! I knew the two of you had something going on in Zaofu.

[braavado]

[She steps back outside about five minutes later, fully dressed this time.]

Ready when you are. [Then she pauses and gives him a once-over.] Looks like you already started without me.

[There's a questioning look in her eyes.]

[enshields]

[He rolls one shoulder, and bounces lightly on his feet.]

Can't run too much, far as I'm concerned. Come on.

[He tips a hand in a very obvious ladies first gesture, and once she steps away from the house he'll fall into step beside her.]

[There's a surprised pause.]

Uh, sure I can try to help. Should I meet you somewhere?

[braavado]

That's...the basic explanation, I guess.

[She's surprised Mako didn't go into more detail, but grateful for it, too.]

It's also weird because the Avatar is the same soul reincarnated over and over. Wan is the first. We're separated by about ten thousand years, but we share the same soul.

[Korra pauses.]

Whoever's the Avatar is supposed to mediate between the spirits and the humans, and keep the balance of the world. Being able to bend more than one element is usually the easiest way to figure out who it is.

[braavado]

[One corner of her mouth tips up in a smile, despite her gloom.]

What a gentleman.

[Trying to put on a brave face, Korra gives him a mock salute and then breaks into a run without warning. Catch her if you can!]

... So you're someone pretty important, in other words.

[Not that that's a surprise.]

Doesn't sound like a fun job.

[Being important in general never is, though there might also be a bias against spirits on Fujimaru's part there.]

Yeah it's great, Opal's great! She's so sweet and kind and thoughtful and pretty and forgiving...

[Korra sets out as soon as she hangs up, and makes it to the soup kitchen soon enough. When she gets there, she looks around for him.]

[ She seems a little more melancholy, but sometimes the best cure for that is to keep yourself busy. He waves her towards a small box where he's collected some bits of steel. ]

How're you doin', sweetheart?

[The first three are pretty on par with what she's heard Bolin say before, but that last one...]

"Forgiving"...?

[Morgan had told him to support Korra after news of Storage had gotten out. It seemed Korra was one of the few people getting the brunt of the backlash, and though he didn't know Korra as well as he would've liked to, he still wanted to help her.]

Hey, Korra. You okay?

[She's had some time to cool off by now, but thoughts of Storage are still weighing heavily on her. Considering she and Axl have only spoken a few times, getting a call from him is a little surprising.]

Yeah...I'm fine. [Korra pauses, then asks cautiously: ] Why're you asking?

[braavado]

I guess you could say that.

[Were she not feeling so tired, she'd probably be amused by his non-reaction.]

It's not so bad. I like being the Avatar. Helping people is what I like doing, so it all works out.

[enshields]

Oh, I try.

[He mirrors her smile, and when she takes off he chases her without actual intent to catch her.

So long as she's not using her bending, he's the faster of the two, but he doesn't mind coming in second place.]

[braavado]

[There's a pause before she answers.]

I'm fine. [She looks at the box to avoid his gaze.] Is that the stuff you want me to metalbend?

[afflictive]

You can do that without a title and a reputation attached to it, though.

Lotta ways to be fine.

[ It's a gentle rebuke, a joke, but if she doesn't want to talk there's little he can do. He gestures to the box. ] Yeah, that's it. I've been trying to make a necklace for - a friend.

I heard from Morgan that you're getting a lot of shit from people about... Storage. I wanted to make sure you were okay.

I know we're not that close, but you're still my friend.

[braavado]

[A pause, and then a soft sigh.]

It's what I grew up knowing. Being the Avatar, I mean.

[She knows people can help without a title, but it's literally all she's known, and sometimes she's not really sure what she would do if she weren't the Avatar.]
