Well, probably. I mean...it might be something they think they have to do, too. I guess it wouldn't be something they were doing because they didn't know anything else, except for the people born here.
[Again, she shook her head, smiling weakly as if to say that no, you don't have to be sorry.]
[Then she pressed her lips together, trying to think of how to convey this next part. Zatanna never realized how hard to was to talk without speaking. She'd never had to think about it before. Especially here, with writing having been taken away from them. Couldn't even jot down a few letters in the dirt.]
[...okay, this was going to be really corny, but...]
[Her eyes lowered, and she pointed to her heart. Love. Somebody she cared about.]
[Then she looked up at Korra and pointed to her mind. Remember. While her finger was pointing, she sadly shook her head.]
[There's somebody else who doesn't remember either. Somebody I care about very much.]
[Maybe she's been lucky so far, she hasn't met anyone from her time yet. And she's never expected anyone from her world to remember her when they were from seventy years ago.]
[How the heck was she supposed to act out a person's na--oh, wait. She had an idea. Whether or not it would work was another story, but Korra had been clever enough to figure out her last round of charades. Think. Think.]
[First, she mimicked glasses over her eyes. A mask. Then, she pointed to just above her left breast, before drawing what looked like an "R" symbol. Hopefully, anybody who had encountered Robin before would recognize the patch on his uniform and realize she was talking about him.]
[Though Korra tracks Zatanna's movements carefully, her clues don't ring any bells for her. Finally, she shakes her head.]
It's probably someone I don't know. You should introduce us sometime. Any friend of yours and Conner's [hazarding a guess that they might know each other here] is a friend of mine.
Great. Between the two of us, we can probably convince him. Which one is it, anyway? You said Wally got his powers when he came back from his thing with Kite, but we have no idea who the other guy is.
I don't know. Wally doesn't want to talk about that experience much. And I don't blame him. I don't want to talk about it much with him either. [he pauses.]
I know it was the demon inside Wally that said everything. But... at the same time I can't really look at him either because he still looked the same when he said all of that stuff to me.
Yeah, definitely before. I think you missed it by a couple weeks.
There's a lot of things we still don't know about Haven, but we'll figure it out eventually. I'll check in the library when I go, see if there's anything in the books.
[Korra doesn't blame him. She wouldn't want to talk about "quality time with Kite" either.]
Okay, so...we ask around? If there's a demon around, someone should know who it is, right?
[She wishes she could put a hand on his shoulder or something.]
I get it. I think I'd...have trouble with it, too, if a friend hurt me like that. Even if I knew they weren't themselves. Just give it some time, fight it. The way Kite's turning people we care about against us, it's just another way to separate us when we should be fighting him together.
