[maybe he should have taken this road with lagoon boy.... and with that he returns the kiss and just sort of lets his worries about mister ex boyfriend drop.]
He could have just said that to me, but he refused to. [is that annoyance? That’s definitely annoyance.] He made it sound like you guys wouldn’t trust me. Next time, I’m going to actually explain to him what the United Republic is, and that my dad was from Ba Sing Se. [okay, maybe that’s closer to muted outrage. He loved his mom, but he definitely never really identified with the Fire Nation.
Firebending aside.
He sighs and then offers his opinion.] The idea of a truce is probably more to protect himself than anything else. He’s outnumbered and he knows it. He just wants assurance he won’t be attacked.
Too late. I think I've met a few of them. Are they really all from your world or just one that's kind of like it? Between you, the boys, Zee, and Kal, I think there's about three different versions of your world.
There's no way to be sure, we're from all over the timeline, but I'd take a chance and say yes. There's like one million different ones, don't ask me how.
Well, there's this guy that goes by Batman. I think you mentioned him before. Steph's back, except she doesn't remember anything from before. And...some guy named Tim?
[She pauses at the last one.]
You might not know him. He says he doesn't know how to fight or anything. But he's definitely from a world with the Justice League, since he knows about Superman.
[ Just when she thought this couldn't get worse. ]
Hmm... you're right, he's probably some civvie who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Maybe he's from a different Superman's world?
[ She's a practiced liar, it rolls off her tongue. She doesn't like lying to Korra, but Red Robin knows Ravager, and Rose hasn't kept her own identity secret. She can't compromise Tim. ]
Guess so. I told him to just call Kal if he's in trouble. It's probably easier for him if he's asking for help from a superhero he already knows, right?
[Rose's reaction to Batman doesn't go unnoticed, though.]
So...what's the deal with Batman? Is it...a bad thing if he's here? I thought he was part of the Justice League and everything.
Yeah, it's not like there aren't plenty of people around to help him out.
[ Now she has to go look for Tim, and hope he's from the right point in the timeline. It'd be a mess if she wasn't on the side of the angels yet, because Tim's trust wasn't easily earned. ]
He is, he's just one of those people who forces you to follow his rules no matter how bullshit they are. [ Too much like her own father. ] Honestly it makes no difference to me whether he's around or not, I don't answer to him, but my friends will want to know if they don't already.
voice; not long after the arrivals started showing up
Well, he's wrong. We trust you, not him. Besides, if he thinks he can just get to you because you're a firebender, he's crazy. [A pause.] Actually, you're right. I don't think we've actually told him what happened after the war. Aang went missing around the time Ozai showed up...
[She sighs.]
Anyway, if he wants to be left alone, I'm completely fine with that, as long as he doesn't mess with any of us.
Thanks. [he's relieved to hear that-- even though he really didn't expect any different. Korra knew him better than that-- at least, he hoped she did.]
I don't think there's any harm in telling him that, and giving him the truce. At least, I can't think of any reason not to. It's not like he doesn't get what's coming to him back home. [aka, that's not their fight, and as long as he behaves himself, Mako could care less]
